Seheno Andriantsaralaza, Ph.D
Seheno is a dedicated tropical ecologist and conservation biologist with a passion for preserving biodiversity, particularly focusing on lemur conservation and the intricate dynamics of plant-animal interactions. Currently,holding two positions as the In-country Director for the NGO Lemur Love and a Madagascar Manager for Lemur Conservation Network, both dedicated to lemur conservation, she brings a wealth of expertise to these crucial roles.
In addition to her leadership positions, she is currently teaching as an adjunct Lecturer at the University of Antananarivo. As a researcher, her research focuses on the fascinating world of the giant and famous trees, Baobabs, where her specialties extend to their seed dispersal mechanisms. |
Her work on the Malagasy baobab trees has been funded by grants from the USAID-PARTNERSHIPS FOR ENHANCED ENGAGEMENT IN RESEARCH (PEER) and the Explorers Club Discovery. She was selected to be among the Explorers Club 50 the fifty people changing the World; the World needs to know about !
Seheno also volunteers her time as an active member of the IUCN Primate Specialist Group-Section on Human-Primate Interactions, the IUCN Primate Specialist Group-Section Madagascar, and the Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation (ATBC) as a secretary board member of the Africa Chapter.
Seheno uses my skills and knowledge in various conservation initiatives, contributing to the broader understanding of the impacts of missing interactions on biodiversity loss and species extinction.
